I’ve always loved trailers.
In fact, I used to watch trailers at a bar when I was in college, and it’s still a favorite.
But I can’t say I’m a fan of indie trailers.
Sure, they can be fun, but they’re usually done poorly.
I also hate seeing trailers that just tell you the end result and you have to do all the work for yourself.
I think I might be missing the point.
So, what does it mean to be an indie game trailer-maker?
First off, there’s a lot of different elements to trailer production, but what I’m going to focus on today is the “storyboarding” part of it.
It’s a long process, and if you’re not prepared, you’ll end up in a mess.
So let’s get started.
Storyboarding is basically the process of making a trailer, as in, making the video.
The video will have to contain the core elements of your game, such as story, graphics, and a narrator.
You can’t just make a video of your trailer and call it a trailer.
There’s a ton of work involved, so if you don’t know what you’re doing, it can be confusing.
You should also know how to make your trailer, because you’re basically making a documentary.
You’ll need a lot more than a video to do a trailer for an indie title, though.
It’ll probably need to be edited, sound recorded, and maybe even some music.
There are a few different kinds of trailers, and I’ll cover each of them in this post.
The first kind is a short, low-budget trailer.
Here’s a trailer from a game called Daring Dog.
I love trailers, because they give us a little insight into a game, but it’s usually really low-quality.
A lot of indie games aren’t even worth watching.
I’m not sure why it’s such a problem, but you can’t expect a trailer to be worth anything when you’re talking about the future of the medium.
Instead, you should aim for something that’s like an art film.
A trailer should be made in a style that you can enjoy.
That’s the key.
The trailer should look like an artist’s rendering of the game’s world.
You want to make the world look real.
You don’t want it to look like something people would be able to buy at a store.
That way, you can make the trailer look good without making it look like a commercial.
The same goes for music.
I mean, a trailer is a trailer—you should make the music fit the game.
The music has to fit the trailer.
If you want to go for something more traditional, you could probably make a soundtrack for your trailer.
But you can also do a music video, a short film, a video for a game or a podcast, or whatever.
This is a video from a video game called Lava Runner, which was released in 2015.
It follows a group of explorers who find themselves trapped in a lava lake and must save their civilization.
The video game trailer can look pretty much any way you want, but the important thing is that it’s a story.
The game itself should tell the story of your adventure.
And you’ll want to tell a story in a video.
When you’re making a short trailer, you want it be short, but still contain some story.
If it’s not short enough, it doesn’t tell the whole story.
A good trailer should have something to do with the game, like a narrator, a narrator-led gameplay element, a character or a story point.
And then, at the end of the video, you might have a big reveal.
Some of my favorite indie game trailers include: How to Make a Trailer for an Indie Game: Storyboarding by Peter Jackson, a game by Hello Games, and The Last of Us: A Story by the Game Director of Call of Duty: Black Ops.
You can read more about Peter Jackson and the developers of The Last Of Us at Polygon.
You also can read about the history of trailer-making and why we love them, as well as some examples of how to build an indie trailer yourself.
