Posted by BuzzFeed News on Thursday, October 01, 2019 14:47:24I’m a big fan of the kids boogieboard and this satin board cover from Etsy called “The Kids Boogie Board.”
It’s a perfect way to hang your boogie boards on a shelf and it’s a lot cheaper than the expensive cotton satin boards that I’ve been using for years.
Here’s how to make it.
First, wash your fabric.
You can do this by hand or in a machine.
It’s the easiest way to get the best results, though I do recommend a machine because the machine doesn’t come with a special tool to clean the fabric.
If you’re using fabric, you’ll need to wash it once a day.
Then, cut the fabric and iron it on the ironing surface.
It doesn’t need to be a fancy machine or anything, but it’ll work.
Next, cut out your fabric cover.
You’ll need about two inches for each side, and that should cover most of the top edge of the fabric cover, so just cut two lines from each side.
You might have to fold the fabric so it’s flat on the top and bottom.
Then fold the top two sides of the cover into a circle.
This is your backing fabric.
Cut it into four pieces and sew them together.
I cut mine into two pieces and made two loops on each side for my boogieboards.
Next you need to get your fabric fabric cut.
If you’re not sewing, you can buy fabric online or at a fabric store.
I found that the easiest option is to go to your local fabric store, then you can order fabric online.
Once your fabric is ready, you need a place to hang the boogiebobs.
You don’t need a wall because they’ll hang on a simple chair leg, but you can hang them on a wall, shelf, or anywhere else.
You’re going to want to make two layers.
I usually make mine about four inches thick.
If I’m not going to make a cover for my kids, I’m going to add some extra padding to the top so it doesn’t get all tangled up.
Make a triangle shape with a 2 x 4 and attach it with a string or a belt loop.
If your fabric has a lot of stretch, I recommend adding a bunch of extra fabric and trimming it off with a sharp knife.
You can make the boogiets bigger or smaller depending on how big you want them.
I’m just using a big one right now because my son loves them and they’re super cute and colorful.
After you’ve finished making the boogies, cut your fabric into eight equal pieces.
If there’s a big difference in how much fabric you cut, cut more fabric.
Then cut four strips that are about the size of the bogeybobs and attach them to each boogie.
Make sure they’re spaced about one inch apart.
You may need to add extra fabric to the boobie pieces, too, but that’s okay.
I’m not using any fancy sewing machines here, so I just put my boogie board on the bed and ironed it until the cover was perfectly flat.
Then I put the boogyboard on the shelves, put a few boogieboogie boards around the edge, and voila!
If your fabric isn’t too stretchy, you could hang the covers on a regular fabric surface like a wall or a shelf, but make sure you put some padding between the bogeys and the cover to keep them from getting caught in the fabric too much.
If the fabric is too stretch, you might have a hard time pulling them off, so you’ll want to lay the boogleys on a flat surface.
If not, you may need a glue gun to get them off.
