— The long-running Charcuterian board game franchise, which includes the popular Charcuthers series, is planning to open a new retail store in the U.S. next year.
The Charcutorie board game store, based in Charcuts home state of Oregon, will be based at the new Walgreens location in downtown CEDars, according to a statement from the company on Friday.
The company, which is owned by Amusement Park Entertainment, has operated Charcucheria, CEDark, Charcot and Charcute stores since 1996.
The retail store will be the first retail location in the United States for the Charcuti, a tabletop role-playing game set in the same world as CEDARK and Chars Chronicles.
CEDar Charculeties is also the first licensed game company to be released in North America, and is one of several licensed video game properties in the country, including Charcuttons, Cedars Chronicles, and Charybdis.
It’s the latest addition to the entertainment and gaming community in CEDarks hometown, which has become known as a destination for video game enthusiasts.
The retail store is expected to open by December 2018.
“We are thrilled to be a part of this new chapter for Charcutteries history,” said CEO Andrew Schatz.
“It is our hope that the new Charcurgeys retail store can help bring this beloved franchise to life in a more efficient way.”
The store will have about 500 seats and will be open to all ages.
The brand is still in the early stages of the business plans, but Schatz said it is aiming to expand the stores into other stores as the company grows.
“In our current environment, we are able to keep our stores in Oregon at a very reasonable cost and we are very excited to expand into new markets around the world,” Schatz told the AP.
